The present book deals with the isolation and characterization of different chemical constituents present in the biofunctional parts of Clerodendrum colebrookianum Walp. commonly known as East Indian Glory Bower (EIGB). The genus Clerodendrum is the second largest genus of the family Lamiaceae or Labiatae (Mint or Sage family) which comprises of about 400 species. Plants of this genus are well known for their medicinal properties. These are widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world as trees and shrubs. A fairly good number of these species are reputed for their medicinal properties in different parts of the world and some of them have been investigated for their chemical constituents by earlier researchers. A brief description of medicinal properties and the chemical constituents of Clerodendrum colebrookianum has been given in this book. The guidance and supervision of Prof. T.N. Mishra and Prof. R.S. Singh, Department of Chemistry, DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, is highly appreciated and acknowledged. The research work has been discussed with new chemical constituents and new hexane eluates along with their antimicrobial activities.
