Tendulkar was writing at the time of Girish Karnad, Mohan Rakesh, Mahesh Elkunchwar and Badal Sircar who were creating a renaissance in Indian Theatre. He imparts social expose of sex, violence, cruelty, discrimination, hatred, injustice, exploitation and many more social evils and with the help of his plays he raises his voice against those social evils directly or indirectly. Tendulkar unfolds the different layers of protest in his plays. He protested against all those ideologies which are responsible for any kind of suppression, discrimination, violence etc.

He has given the voices of protest against traditional ways of sexuality which gives power to the various provinces of human life. Tendulkar protested to achieve social justice, liberty, equality for all.
